There is a calendar full of exciting events throughout the year, including the world class Blues & Roots Music Festival at Easter; A Taste of Byron in August - a wonderful week for foodies; the well established Writers Festival (August); or for those of you who love a real challenge - the Byron Bay Ocean Swim Classic and the Byron Triathlon(both in May); Easter also has the Byron Easter Surf Classic; and not to be forgotten, the Basc Film Festival in February, features some of the latest and greatest in cinematography.

For the actively minded, there is a great variety of things to do. Hanglide by the lighthouse, soaring like a bird over the beauty of Wategos Beach. There's ultralight flights and sea kayaking out with the dolphins. You can take a surfing lesson (you might surprise yourself), parachute out of a plane, horse ride, bike ride, snorkel, scuba dive at our Julian Rocks Marine park reserve, play a round of golf; do yoga, pilates, singing, dancing, acting and much more!
