The Byron Bay Guide is for Sale by Silent Auction

Alas, I am leaving town at the end of January 2010 and will not longer be able to manage the Byron Bay Guide, and intend to sell the site by silent auction to the highest bidder by the 15th of January 2010.  There is no reserve, but I might accept an offer outright if it's about what I am looking for.

Current highest offer is $21,500 as at 1 December 2009.

Some stats

In the 2008/2009 financial year the site generated $10,220.  This was generated from adsense alone, but the site also has the ability to run an accommodation booking application and has a working banner system which went live on the 1st of December 2010.

The buyer could take over the site and continue it as is, or install their own site(real estate, accommodation booking etc) which for some will be a better option.

The site has the following features.

Top10 rankings on google.com.au for Byron Bay, Byron Bay Accommodation and Byron Bay Real Estate.

  • Traffic of around 5000 people per month, much higher in peak seasons.
  • A business directory
  • A free classifieds system
  • An Event Manager
  • A Real Estate Module that works for both agents and personal listings. Only recently added.
  • Banner Management Application - only just added.
  • Ability to add accommodation booking for properties.
  • Content Management System
  • Links Manager.
  • Newsletter
  • Reviews

If the site was to continue running as is, it would need to stay on the current server until mid April next year - its currently running of a platform that runs multiple sites and its not till April that it will be able to be migrated to a stand alone system.
