Back in the late 1960's, the area now known as Ocean Shores was still picturesque pastoral land. With some help from the spruiking of US singer Pat Boone, the area bounded by the Brunswick River, Billinudgel, South Golden Beach and New Brighton soon found willing participants in the new lifestyle rich development. Situated 4klms North of Burnsiwck heads and 11 Klms North of Byron its close enough to the action but out of the hussle and bussle.

Ocean Shores has literally kilometers of golden sandy beaches and is a haven for a variety of wildlife. From the town's lookout, there is a wonderful 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Home to one of the finest, longest, most water hazarded Golf Courses at the Ocean Shores Country Club its a must visit for any keen golfer.
